Manufacture and supply of steel pipes for well drilling
At Juma Metal we have been manufacturing and distributing grooved steel pipe for drilling wells since 1965. We have in stock drilling pipes with diameters ranging from 120 to 320 millimeters and 6 meters long.
Wells and boreholes are two water extraction techniques that are in clear progress in recent times, enjoying a high demand that grows year after year. The benefits that they report to those who carry them out are varied.ealizan son variados.
We can find the reason for the realization of soundings and wells in the shortage of water that extends throughout the Spanish geography and is that without water there is no life.
The supply with water extracted manually from our aquifers is increasingly significant. Today, multiple towns, fields and industries use groundwater for their supply. Water boreholes are used to locate, obtain groundwater, and use it later.
For years, the technique of drilling for water in any part of the Spanish geography has been in full swing. It is not for less if we take into account that the scarcity of water extends throughout the Spanish geography and that without water there is no life.
Unfortunately, there are times when landowners or professionals in agriculture and livestock do not take advantage of the benefits and natural resources such as groundwater that they can get on their property. An opportunity that is within your reach and that you do not take advantage of is a mistake.
What is a poll
A borehole consists of a drilling that is carried out in the ground to reach the groundwater level and in this way to extract it through a pump. Once the collection work has been carried out, the water obtained is transferred using pipes or channels to the places of consumption.
A water catchment project is something more than a simple excavation carried out until the desired water is found. Getting the most out of the aquifer has its specific technique that must be developed correctly to be successful in the project. It is crucial to provide the proper passage of the waters from said aquifer to the well or borehole.
The commissioning of a water well is a work of great impact and difficulty that cannot be carried out without adequate professional training, suitable precision machinery and special environmental care. The drilling is a work of enormous impact, since it manages to transform the balance of the aquifer, drying out and polluting the water tables if it is not carried out correctly. Definitely, it is something that has an important direct impact on the ecosystems that are on the surface and can also precipitate the salinization and desertification of the soils.
Characteristics of a water well
A well is a variant of a well with different characteristics that give it a series of advantages. This technique used to obtain groundwater usually has a diameter of approximately 180 mm. and a great depth, up to several hundred meters.
By comparison, wells are large in diameter, typically over a meter in diameter, and shallow, rarely reaching twelve meters. To remove the water in a borehole, it is necessary to install a motor pump and a pipe.
There is no doubt that depth is one of the most characteristic notes in water soundings. For this reason, drilling machinery and specialized equipment with high capacity must be used to guarantee the descent until reaching the bottom of the aquifer, obtaining the desired extraction of the water.
A borehole is better than an open well since borehole is the only method that can reach masses of water at great depths.
To achieve a high level of efficiency, boreholes are lined with metal pipes with numerous grooves or holes along them to allow water to pass through the borehole walls.
At Juma Metal we have been supplying steel drilling pipes since 1965 nationwide so that our clients can undertake their well drilling projects with full guarantee.
As is logical, the fact that the boreholes are several meters deep until reaching the water creates more difficulty in extraction. A water catchment work by means of a well is really complex, since it is desirable to achieve the maximum benefit of the extraction, providing the passage of water from the aquifer in the direction of the well and managing the resources in a convenient way. To achieve these objectives, in the precise case of borings, slotted steel pipes and holes are used as lining.
Advantages of drilling over other types of wells
- Savings in the cost of water consumption. Having your own water supply leads to considerable savings in terms of paying bills. The use of this good for irrigation brings significant economic savings.
- Access to deep groundwater. The purpose of the survey is to have access to waters that can be used but are located in the interior of the earth. With a borehole it is possible to reach deeper water masses than with a well having a well without prior access.
- Minimum space occupied. A water well occupies a small physical space on the surface.
- Competitive price. The cost of building a borehole per linear meter is cheaper than other types of wells.
In summary, it can be said that water boring is the most suitable type of well when it comes to capturing deep water. Due to its speed in its execution, price and results obtained, it is one of the types of wells most used in agriculture.
Borehole Machinery
Due to their depth, the boreholes have to be carried out with drilling machines prepared and capable of undertaking a work of the required caliber. These are equipment capable of effectively descending until reaching the bottom of the aquifer, thus guaranteeing the extraction of underground water.
There are generally two types of machines to undertake a water survey.
In type of them they are those that can be defined as percussion, with a movement in two stages, the first of hoisting and the second letting it fall freely to hit the ground.
Another type of machine is the turning machine, which uses a motor that rotates a special tool to carry out the drilling.
